Sacrificing yourself to follow the opponent

‘Sacrificing yourself to follow the opponent’ is to get the initiative by turning without stepping back.

Binding Energy – Overcomes leaning backwards.

Tightly adhere and add energy to your position, the energy increases and supports in two directions.

Draining Energy – Overcomes leaning forward.

Rotate at the adhering point, you drain your own energy and give emptiness.

Breaking Energy – Overcomes breaking off.

After you turn, don’t retreat, sink. The energy sinks down and creates pressure so energy can be delivered.

Weakening Energy – Overcomes receiving straight.

Use the smallest circle to turn, the energy moves upwards and outwards.

The Scale weighs the opponent’s energy – whether it is great or small, light or heavy, rising or sinking.

The Wheel enables you to measure the opponent without being measured.

You give up your intention to follow the opponents energy; use binding, draining, breaking and weakening energies to adjust your adhere, stick, connect and follow.

The opponent’s energy causes you to turn and sink to one side; his force falls into emptiness, your body then exchanges its energies and follows his retreat.

The technique is to follow his energy and lead him into emptiness so he comes out of position, then to attack his retreat.
